Joan Rivers

The Joan Rivers Show was the first national broadcast television show to feature Temptress. Joan was funny and really liked Temptress, even took Temptress shopping at Lord & Taylor with a camera crew in tow to catch the insanity.

Temptress really likes Joan Rivers and hopes to team up with her again soon. When we get the video captures of the appearance we will post the pictures here. Here's how Joan introduced Temptress on the show:

The National Enquirer

The National Enquirer featured Temptress in an article plus a photo with Danny Bonaduce, of Partridge Family fame. Danny now is a radio DJ, and after a wild childhood and adolescence has settled down. We are searching the archives for this feature and will post as soon as it's scanned.

Sally was at first unreceptive towards Temptress saying "not another drag thing", at the end of the show Sally can up and stated that Temptress stole the show, as the other guests we not very entertaining.

EDGE MAGAZINE - "Temptress cranks out crunchy camp rock... not ones to be taken too seriously, this outrageous cross-dressing rocker pumps out a wall of sound that lies somewhere between Green Day and Twisted Sister..." This was a review of the rough mixes to what is now the Wizard of Odd CD, we sent out a few CD-R copies to non-industry type magazines, to make sure we were the right direction.

"Today we bring you the World's Most outrageous rock act, Temptress"

Temptress was the first rock act to appear on the Jenny Jones show. Temptress performed as the house band for a "Tranvestite Beauty Contest". The celebrity judges were Judy Tenuta, Danny Bonaduce and Al "Grampa" Lewis. The show was so wild, the sponsors pulled the show from airing. We have VHS copies of the show, available to Temptress fanclub members only.

The end of the show featured an "All-Star Jam" with Temptress, Jenny Jones on drums (she was great), Judy Tenuta on accordion, Danny Bonaduce on Bass Guitar, and Grampa Lewis out front molesting the contestants. We were all drinking Jagermeister at 6:00 in the morning, we had a great time !!!

We were hoping to get the picture of Phil Donahue in a dress, any body out there got it, please send it to our webmaster. Temptress was on the "Phil wears a Plaid Skirt Show". Lost are the photos and video from that experience. Phil was trying to get to the "serious issue" behind Temptress' look, he obviously got nowhere.

Pauly Shore

Pauly interviewed Temptress backstage at an MTV concert during Spring Break in Florida. This was after he had his own show on MTV, he was doing some kind of special. Pauly's alot smarter than he acts, he was directing the shots, producing the segment and doing the interviews. He was one of the few interviewers that stuck to music related questions. In the interview, he came across as confused, but really understood it all.

NEW YORK POST -- So how did this twisted sister come to be, by accident. "We didn't have time to get good costumes so we went in drag" Temptress was quoted as to the origins of the act. "Temptress -- whose music bears traces of the New York Dolls and Ramones.... The Post article mainly spoke to the acts history and what it was like wearing pantyhose.

Danny Bonaduce

"Temptress really rocks, I used to be in a band, you know."

Temptress met Danny while taping the Jenny Jones Show. Danny was the only cool character on the Partridge Family as far as Temptress goes. The top photo with Danny, Temptress and Judy Tenuta was taken by Danny's lovely wife.

The Bonaduces sent us the copies, not what you'd expect from a celebrity. Danny's radio career continually advances, he moved up from the Chicago market to New York and is now at Star98.7 in Los Angeles. Hopefully, we can get Danny to sit in at a Temptress LA show, and lay down some rockin' bass lines, just like he did at Jenny Jones.

Be brave, and bring your friends." The article was written by Linus Gelber, who owns Home Office Records in New York. We tried to get Linus up on stage during this show during "Crack the Whip" for his own flagellation.

"Being Temptress must be alot of fun, ever get to used the ladies room?"

Maury was very cool when Temptress appearred on his show. Maury actually had to get a feel of Temptress' killer legs. Temptress appeared with her SO, the show was called "Opposites Attract", we don't see what's so opposite with this couple, do you? Maybe it's the blonde vs. brunette thing, or maybe red vs. blue.....or maybe it was wild rocker vs. emergency paramedic.. what do you think?

The Bacon Brothers

"My brother told me about you, what the hell are you doing here?" - Kevin Bacon

Temptress met Michael and Kevin Bacon in Cannes, France at the Midem music conference. It was Michael that picked Temptress out of the crowd.

The three discussed music, celebrity, and Howard Stern. Michael, it seems is a big Temptress fan.. maybe Temptress will do a show some day with the Bacon Brothers. We hear that all the musical acts that share the stage with the Bacons will be featured in the games "Six Degrees of the Bacon Brothers".

Kevin kept it low key, he says the band is Michael's gig and he's there to help his bother. Two very cool guys, check out their records and go see them live. If you have time go see Kevin's latest movie.

Tom Bergeron

"Once you're out of those pantyhose, does the feeling still linger?"

Tom Bergeron, the host of the Hollywood Squares, used to have a show called "Fox After Breakfast" and "People are Talking". Tom had Temptress on as a guest along with the band to perform live. The "People Are Talking" show dedicated the whole prgram to Temptress. The drag queen radicals demanded equal time after the show aired, they were turned away.

THE GLOBE -- the Globe wrote a two page picture story on Temptress, contrary to popular belief, the story took our quotes work for word...we love their use of adjectives like " Tough-guy transforms into a sleazy songstress" or "the audience whistle and stomp when the stunning Temptress takes the stage -- as gorgeous as a Las Vegas showgirl" Here is where you can find one of the few photos of Temptress out of the stage persona, notice the Jagermeister hat !!!

Drew Barrymore

Temptress is on stage at Squeezbox NYC, the crowd is wild. Drew jumps up on stage during the song "Working Girl" and starts ripping her clothes off for Temptress... and every one else there.

She drops to her knees and simulates oral sex with Temptress. What a night... Drew is truly a wild child... Temptress still has wet dreams over that night, how about you? Okay, she was a little tipsy... she'd be a great Nasty Habit !!! She did apply for the job, see quote above.

Drew is currently working on the "Charlie's Angel" movie with Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu, you can bet you'll see Temptress at the premiere, probably right in the front row. Also in the film is that Sweet Transvestite from Rocky Horror Picture Show, Tim Curry. Temptress also loved Drew in "Poison Ivy", she played such a bad girl...remember the scene where she took it from behind, bent over the piano? Very erotic, yet very musical.

THE IMPROPER BOSTONIAN --

Was first to catch wind of our record breaking performance in front of 2.6 million people in a single day. This magazine usually only covers "society" type people, I guess this was their way of saying that Temptress had arrived to the Boston Brahmins. I'm sure Teddy Kennedy took an extra double-shot when he saw this article. The headline read "RuPaul would Be Proud" as if you can even compare Temptress to the lip-synching Ru. I guess they were comparing the size of the hair and the heels.
